Thank you so much for reading our very first blog post!
The name Happy Papaya was one set on my heart for months before I actually knew what to do with it. I knew it was going to be something in the creative space, but that’s about all I knew.
In June of 2019, I started freelancing on UpWork. I actually got work pretty quickly and knew almost immediately that freelancing was something I wanted to do.
So, I did what any one else would do and joined a TON of freelancing/entrepreneur groups. Not too long afterwards, I saw a post of a business owner needing someone to outsource some work to.
Long story short, I got the job.
But that also lit a fire under me because for the first time in my life, I was doing something I love – creating – AND getting paid for it.
In just 7 months of freelancing, I’ve been able to match my full-time income (which isn’t a lot, don’t get me wrong. But it was a BIG deal for me.)
Over that time, I’d established a pretty great working relationship with Leigh, the business owner that began outsourcing to me (she runs an AWESOME branding agency called Neutral Ground Creative!) suggested I start my own digital marketing business that focused on copywriting, content creation, and social media management.
After we had that conversation, I knew exactly what Happy Papaya was going to be.
Ready to meet the founder of Happy Papaya? Then read on!
I love my two tiny humans and all things coffee (seriously, it’s becoming a problem).
I have a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Columbus State University and have been fostering my passion for writing since I was 6 years old.
I currently work full time as a Communications Coordinator for a nonprofit (which I love!), run a motherhood blog over at Along Came Littles, and juggle being a mother and entrepreneur!
I’m curious about you! Tell me one random fact about yourself below!
