I’m a southern(ish) peach with an overdramatic love for iced coffee, over sized t-shirts, blankets, and planners. You can find me playing outside with my tiny humans or binging Survivor. I’ve been lovin' life since 1993.
I'm Emily, the founder and creative brain behind Happy Papaya Creative and I'm here to help you level up your business through brand design, web design, and social media management + strategy.
Ever been told you dream to big? We don't believe in that philosophy here at Happy Papaya. In fact, the bigger your dreams, the better. We work together as a team to make sure your results are everything you expected and more.
In June of 2019, I had reached a dead end. I was working a full time job that I loved but didn't pay well, taking care of a toddler and a newborn, and trying to remain sane. I knew something had to change, so I started researching ways to bring in income that wouldn't impact my full time hours or the little bit of time I had to spend with my family.
So, I did what any one else would do and joined a TON of freelancing/entrepreneur groups. Not too long afterwards, I saw a post of a business owner needing someone to outsource some work to.
I reached out to her, and I got the job.
But that also lit a fire under me because for the first time in my life, I was doing something I love - creating - AND getting paid for it. In just 7 months of freelancing, I was able to match my full-time income for the first time - talk about a great feeling.
Not too long after that, I launched HPC as a social media agency, but really it was more of an "I'll-do-anything" agency. I literally took on any project that landed in my lap. After designing a few websites, I quickly realized that was where my heart was.
And now, here I am - supporting bomb-ass female-owned creative businesses and absolutely loving every minute of it.
Now, I get to do what I love every day and show my tiny humans that you can do whatever you want - no matter how big your dreams. What more could I ask for?
The inspiration behind the name Happy Papaya was drawn from my children's names.
My daughter, Kaya, was often called Kaya Papaya or sometimes even just Papaya (and still is to this day!). My son's name, Asher, is Hebrew for happiness.
When I put the two together and ended up with Happy Papaya, I knew that was going to be the name of my next great adventure.
